Hull’s River Bridges: John Dean – Delivering Stoneferry and Other Stories
We first met John during A River Full of Stories. His invitation to travel with him and shipmate Kevin on the George Dyson from Hull to York via Goole in january 2020 was a once in a lifetime experience which we’ll never forget.
John runs the last remaining dry dock on the River Hull at Lime Street, amongst other things. Here he tells us of the delivery of new bridges for Stoneferry and moving the Arctic Corsair, and other stories.
The second short film shows John moving the Arctic Corsair from the Old Harbour through Myton and Millenium bridges heading for Albert Dock and restoration.
The gallery below the films shows Dean’s Marine Services and the Gillian Knight delivering the cantilevers of Stoneferry bridges from the Humber, through Myton Bridge and arriving, safe and sound, at Stoneferry.
