More photos of Hull to York on the George Dyson

The scenic route from Hull to York

On January 24th and 25th 2020 the Dean’s Marine barge George Dyson made its first working trip from Hull’s Albert Dock to York city centre Guildhall, stopping overnight in Goole along the way. Thank you to John Dean for inviting us on the journey, which was a truly amazing experience.

This is our third gallery of photographs:

Photos by Rich. I took some video of the journey to which I have added our Loudhailer Electric Company track Night Heron as a soundtrack, click to listen and follow the trip …

Once again a  big thank you to John Dean, and to crew and friends, Kevin, Karl, John, Ray and Andy.

The first edition of A River Full of Stories book of memories and photographs of life on and around the River Hull is now available for loan in all Hull & East Riding Libraries and can be ordered to borrow from all UK libraries.

Open Bridges is an independent not for profit Hull/East Yorkshire based project which made history when for the first, and only time, all 13 of the bridges over the River Hull raised, swung or closed simultaneously splitting the city of Hull in two at 20:17 hours on the autumn equinox, 22nd September 2017.
